Selling Tips

How to write a listing description that actually sells

A well-written description builds trust and converts browsers into buyers. Here's a template:

Opening line: State the key selling point upfront "Low-mileage 2021 Ford Transit Custom with full service history and 12 months MOT"

Key details to include:

  • Year, make, model, variant
  • Mileage and MOT expiry
  • Engine size and fuel type
  • Service history summary
  • Number of previous owners
  • Any modifications or extras
  • Reason for selling (builds trust)

Pro tips:

  • Be honest about condition — mention any imperfections
  • Use bullet points for quick scanning
  • Include running costs if they're a selling point
  • Mention if the price is negotiable
