Pricing your van right — how to find the sweet spot

Price too high and you'll get no enquiries. Price too low and you'll leave money on the table. Here's how to find the right price:

Research:

  1. Search VanFinder for similar vans (same make, model, year, mileage range)
  2. Check completed eBay listings for actual sold prices
  3. Use our Price Gauge tool for market comparison

Factors that increase value:

  • Full service history (+£500-1,000)
  • Low mileage for age
  • Popular colour (white for commercial, any for lifestyle)
  • Recent major work (timing belt, clutch, brakes)
  • Factory extras (air con, sat nav, parking sensors)

Factors that decrease value:

  • No service history
  • Cosmetic damage
  • Non-standard modifications
  • High mileage
  • Short MOT

Pricing strategy:

  • Price 5-10% above your minimum to leave room for negotiation
  • Consider offering "no offers" at a fair price — some buyers prefer transparency

What's your pricing strategy? Do you prefer to price firm or leave negotiation room?
